I've Never Felt This Way Before...

"Familiarity is the root of the closest friendships, as well as the intensest hatreds." (Antoine Rivarol)
Familiarity? Is that it? I'm too familiar with this cursed dress?

I loved the idea. It was magical in my head. I picked out the fabric with the greatest care, took me 2 hours. I could see the shining silver snowflakes in my head. How gorgeous would an Alice in Winterland dress be?

I hate this dress. It's beautiful. I'm proud of it in a bitter way but... I hate it. I've never felt this way before about anything I've ever made. I don't like it.

Despite my hating it, Luna is going to look beautiful. I tried it on her tonight and it fits like a glove. I still have to do the embroidery, apron, and diaper cover tonight.

I'm going to try not to let my blood sugar about make me pass out again like earlier. I rushed to the kitchen, grabbed strawberries, black berries, a glass of milk, and made me a chicken salad sandwich. So glad I made that chicken salad last night!

Night ended with my girl being adorable again. Here is a video of what she would say if she met the Doctor.

And a picture of my baby girl sleeping in out bed. CO-SLEEPING FOR THE WIN!

The rest of the pics are random... Enjoy!

Lunch of Champions!

My work station during my lunch break

I really love pins. I really hate those sleeves.
Finished the freakin thing!

Yeah, even stitched the skirt on inside out. Had to pull out all the stitches.

Finally done with the major parts!

March To Your Own Beat, Baby Girl...

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." --Steve Jobs

It's nearing midnight and what a long, unproductive day it's been. Spent the morning snuggling with Emmy and watching Despicable Me, the afternoon napping and waiting for my ex-MIL come to get Em. She got here late so all I accomplished in the time Em wasn't here was showering and eating dinner. This is totally fine, I prefer her here. I just wished I could have tackled some sewing.

While waiting, I decided to snap some shots of Emmy and our dog Julie. These pics didn't exactly come out so great. The baby has learned to fake smile and Julie is sooo not photogenic. While this was going on, Emmy also grabbed her own camera and started taking pictures. She got a really neat toddler camera for Christmas from the Doctor (Yes, as in Doctor Who. This is a story for another blog post…) and seems to love it. I turned on the overhead light since it doesn't have a flash and let her go to town. Here is a pic of her taking pictures:

And here are the pictures she took:

Tonight when I went to pick up Emmy she sang us a song and played us the drum. Somehow she was able to hit both drums, the cymbal from time to time AND do the kick drum ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I couldn't do it! That's talent, ladies and gents. Here is her solo:

Emmy Jamming Out

She's growing up so fast and I am absolutely LOVING getting to know her better. She's so brave, strong, curious, beautiful, spunky, and smart. She's not going to be fantastic, she already is.

Well, now that it's PAST midnight and all the hershey kisses are gone, I am going to eat another (healthy) meal and read a bit before bed. Yay for mommy time!
