"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." --Steve Jobs
It's nearing midnight and what a long, unproductive day it's been. Spent the morning snuggling with Emmy and watching Despicable Me, the afternoon napping and waiting for my ex-MIL come to get Em. She got here late so all I accomplished in the time Em wasn't here was showering and eating dinner. This is totally fine, I prefer her here. I just wished I could have tackled some sewing.
While waiting, I decided to snap some shots of Emmy and our dog Julie. These pics didn't exactly come out so great. The baby has learned to fake smile and Julie is sooo not photogenic. While this was going on, Emmy also grabbed her own camera and started taking pictures. She got a really neat toddler camera for Christmas from the Doctor (Yes, as in Doctor Who. This is a story for another blog post…) and seems to love it. I turned on the overhead light since it doesn't have a flash and let her go to town. Here is a pic of her taking pictures:
And here are the pictures she took:
Tonight when I went to pick up Emmy she sang us a song and played us the drum. Somehow she was able to hit both drums, the cymbal from time to time AND do the kick drum ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I couldn't do it! That's talent, ladies and gents. Here is her solo:
She's growing up so fast and I am absolutely LOVING getting to know her better. She's so brave, strong, curious, beautiful, spunky, and smart. She's not going to be fantastic, she already is.

Well, now that it's PAST midnight and all the hershey kisses are gone, I am going to eat another (healthy) meal and read a bit before bed. Yay for mommy time!
